Netholi Thoran മീൻ തോരൻ

For preparing anchovies/netholi thoran(meen pattichathu), grind coarsely the coconut, shallots, ginger, green chillies, curry leaves and turmeric powder.
Add this mixture to the fish in a pan.
Add the soaked coccum and required salt. Cook in low flame until done.Add half a cup of water and cook on low heat till the water is all dried up.
Take off the fire and add a spoon of coconut oil.
Serve as an accompaniment to rice.
Anchovies/Netholi thoran(meen pattichathu), a tasty naadan dish is ready.

  • Anchovies (Netholi/Kozhuva) – 500g
  • Coconut (grated) – 2 cups
  • Shallots(Kunjulli) – 1/2 cup
  • Ginger – 1 inch piece
  • Greenchillies – 5 -6 nos
  • Coccum(Kudam puli) – 2 nos
  • Turmericpowder – 1/4 tsp
  • Curryleaves – 2 stems
  • Coconutoil – 1 tbsp(optional)
  • Salt – As reqd
